Dear Colleagues of CMSA of Central Florida,
As I enter the second term as your President, I reflect on the honor and highlights of the past year as your leader. During 2019, we recognized Barbara Gold as our 2019 Case Manager of The Year and learned of her contributions through decades of experience and wisdom. As an expert communicator, mentor and professional RN case manager, Barbara lead by example in her community and her practice. Barbara reminds us that the simple things we do with great love give meaning and purpose.
I am humbled and grateful for our dedicated board and committee members who make our educational programs and annual vendor show a success. We appreciate our loyal sponsors and speakers who keep us learning and growing as you educate us on new techniques, theories, policies, and practices.
As case management professionals, we are in a unique position to connect people, places, and services as we build a bridge to a stronger healthcare delivery system. We are living and working in exciting times my friends.
At CMSA, we love to meet new and interesting people. Membership and participation are critical to the success of our chapter. Our goal in 2020 is to reach, engage and mentor the next generation of case manager leaders.

Barbara is an active member of the Central Florida Chapter of CMSA and continues to work as an RN Case Manager many years after official retirement. Her career as a case manager began when she was relocated to the Greater Orlando area by Managed Comp. Her professional journey continued when she attended a legal nurse consultant course at UCF, which allowed Barbara to be a case manager and resource registered nurse in the Liability Unit at Travelers in Orlando, FL.
Barbara, was a nurse case manager before it was even a buzzword! She enjoys seeing injured workers regain their health and return to a full and gratifying life. Barbara shares that " It's a privilege to see injured workers get better'>
Over her career, Barbara strengthened her leadership skills by listening and having open communication with her peers, claimants and other clinicians. Barbara is a dedicated RN case manager who enjoys mentoring and introducing RN's to the field of case management. Her volunteer roles extend across many professional and non-profit organizations; CMSA of Central Florida, Shepherd's Hope, Jewish Pavilion, Legal Nurse Consultant RN's, JFS Orlando Food Pantry.
Barbara is most thankful for her husband of 60 years, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her good health and long-standing ambition allow Barbara to continue the work she loves. We are honored to have Barbara Gold as our Case Manager of the Year!
